Irish Red Ale, 4.9%: Deep murky brown color. Frothy and creamy dark beige 2-3 finger head, lasting around 15 minutes, with basic legs. Flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar, soft ginger, light berries, toffee, barley and herbal hops. Slick and smooth full body with some prickly carbonation, slightly sharp. Light to medium strength, quite smooth, bready and filling. Ends with a rich malty caramel feel. Good freshness and accessibility. Well balanced although probably a little light on the spices, while I tend to prefer that kind of intensity. It’s a classic take on the style, nothing special to note. Overall good quality craft.
