APPRECIATION |
Saison, 6.5%: Bright dark straw color with a slight veil and very dense storming activity. It gets cloudy with more yeast pour. Thick frothy and creamy white 3-4 finger head, lasting around 15 minutes, with decent legs, moderate lacing, and a good reaction to a swirl. Flavor of cheese, butter, straw, grapefruits, orange, lemon, pineapples, clove, peppercorn, caramel, wild yeast, grassy and floral hops. Slick and smooth full body with extra crispy carbonation. Strong finish, quite long and tongue coating, a little dry but well intensified and nothing too excessive at first, yet the more yeast is poured the more hoppy and harsher it gets. Very fine rustic barnyard feel, highly sharp and edgy, rich tropical fruits with thick floral and piney spices. Powerful inviting smell. The complexity is quite high, with great balance in the flavors, a good freshness. Delicious taste with a pleasant oily body. Overall excellent quality craft, makes a really nice Saison / IPA.
