Red IPA, 6%: Veiled ruby copper color with very faint activity. Creamy and slightly frothy dark beige 2-3 finger head, lasting around 10 minutes, with decent legs. Flavors of caramel, barley, lemon, light grapefruits, apples, nutmeg, ginger, dry floral and leafy hops. Slick and smooth medium body with a moderate crisp. Medium strength finish, ends with sharp zesty yeast, lingering dry hops, with traditional red ale spices, and a butterscotch feel. It’s bready and biscuity. Nice maillard effect, a good swirl brings a fresh buttery soapy caramel scent. Kind of like a cross between a red ale and IPA. Very tasty and pleasant to drink, the freshness is good. Well intensified, a bit Irish dry in strength, still accessible. Overall excellent quality craft, nicely executed.
