American Stout / Barleywine, 7%: Deep opaque black color. Thick cream brown 3 finger sparkling head, lasting around 10 minutes, with decent legs. Flavors of walnuts, cherries, berries, chocolate, light mocha and cocoa, toffee, roasted grains and herbal hops. Smooth creamy, almost milky, medium to full body with a soft crisp. Strong strength finish, slightly earthy but more fruity on the tongue, ends quite thick with leafy spices. Still accessible, only slightly chalky. The star here is the rich tasty ester fruits, not really coffee nor chocolate oriented, plummy like a barleywine. Yet it does ends quite roasted and coarse, slightly unbalanced. Nicely bodied and filling. Overall very good quality craft.
