American Brown Ale, 5.5%: Clear and slightly veiled, dark amber/copper color, with low activity. Light creamy 1 finger head, lasting around 2 minutes, with faint legs. Flavors of walnuts, caramel, light chocolate, apples, berries, soft clove/orange peels, dark malts and herbal hops. Smooth creamy full body with a moderate crisp. Medium strength finish, filling butterscotch and barley, a bit beady and roasted, ending with balanced leafy floral hops. A good swirl with reveal an impressive walnut bouquet and taste. Quite tender with rich toffee sweetness. Not as bitter as a true English version, still the bitterness is well present and proper. Excellent balance between sweet and bitter, it’s delicate while effective on the tongue. Helps with the accessibility, and the and complexity is really nice. Overall excellent quality craft, pretty much as always, from this fine Acadie brewery.
