English Barleywine, 10.5%: Deep hazy and veiled brown color with a bright copper hue but no visible activity. Light creamy light brown 2 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, lacing is average but the swirl is decent. Flavors of prunes, raisins, liquorice, toffee, brown sugar, roasted grains dominant barley, and herbal hops. Slick and soft silky medium body with a light crisp. Strong finish yet not too excessive on the tongue coat, densely sugary and fruity, a hint of clove and soapy cheese effect. Pure barley sugar smell, quite inviting. Though the body gets a bit dull very fast as it warms. Rich intense caramel sweetness, too much but lots of spices kicks in so the balance is not too much affected, still makes a decent appetizer. Overall very good quality craft.
