Dark Saison, 6%, 1 year old bottle : Almost opaque black color with a copper hue and not much activity. Creamy and frothy light brown 4 finger head, lasting around 15-20 minutes, with decent legs and good swirl reaction. Flavors of light roasted grains, wheat, grapefruits, soft coffee and chocolate, brett yeast, and floral hops. Slick and smooth medium body with a moderate crisp. Medium strength finish, faint leafy hoppy feel, mostly yeasty and wheathy. Unfortunately it didn’t age well I guess, slightly sour, no developed bardyard effect with muffled roasted flavors and hops. Feels more like a 4% table Saison. At least the freshness is good and easy to drink. Overall above average quality craft.
