Double IPA, 8.2%: Deep hazy and murky dark amber color with no activity. Creamy and bubbly light beige 2-3 finger head, lasting around 15-20 minutes, with average legs but a good swirl effect. Flavors of pineapples, orange, grapefruits, lemon, sweet grains dominant barley, clove, toffee, and herbal hops. Slick and oily medium body with a sharp crisp. Strong strength finish, citrusy and slightly tropical though more with a thick leafy and piney feel similar to tobacco. It’s resinous and a robust one indeed but still well balanced with lots of brown sugar and cinnamon. Okay freshness that takes a hit from an overly alcoholic feel. The maillard effect is excessive, also the body is a bit too dull and thin. With the yeast it gets even harsher but sharper from a dominant taste of lemon. A tad overly strong, yet really packed with flavors. Overall good quality craft.
