American Brown Ale with Belgian yeast, 7.8%: Veiled copper color with lots of activity. Creamy beige 3 finger head, lasting around 10 minutes, with timid legs. Flavors of toffee, elderberries, soft walnuts, lemon, nutmeg, ginger, dark grains and herbal hops. Slick and oily medium body with a moderate sharp crisp. Medium to strong strength finish, a bit alcoholic, softly roasted and bready, slightly leafy and nutty. Has a deeper warming touch except a little fresher that most browns, although probably not as filling. Would have preferred a nuttier feel, and less boozy. Light Belgian yeast in the smell, following a hint of clove in the aftertaste. Tastes and feels alright, nothing excessive, and decently balanced. Overall good quality craft.
