Oatmeal stout, 4.8%: Tulip recommended. Opaque dark brown color, almost black. Slightly creamy brown 2 finger head, lasting around 10 minutes, with light legs, but good lace and decent swirl effect. Flavors of prunes, berries, plums, light chocolate, liquorice, dark malts and herbal spices. Barrel aged notes similar to a Russian stout and barleywine. Silky and creamy medium to full body with slightly crispy and prickly carbonation. Strong finish, tender rich malty and fruity feel, while thicky leafy and leathery, and a bit chalky. Has a nice earthy feel to it. Quite filling and warming. Powerful but decently fresh, it’s deeply rich and well intensified. Highly enjoyable brew, easy to down while complex and pleasant. Best brew they make.

Irish Red Ale, 4.9%: Deep murky brown color. Frothy and creamy dark beige 2-3 finger head, lasting around 15 minutes, with basic legs. Flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar, soft ginger, light berries, toffee, barley and herbal hops. Slick and smooth full body with some prickly carbonation, slightly sharp. Light to medium strength, quite smooth, bready and filling. Ends with a rich malty caramel feel. Good freshness and accessibility. Well balanced although probably a little light on the spices, while I tend to prefer that kind of intensity. It’s a classic take on the style, nothing special to note. Overall good quality craft.

Flavors of sweet grains, barley, caramel, light butter, soft grapefruits and orange, wheat and dry noble hops. Slick and smooth full body with a sharp crispy carbonation. Medium strength finish, a bit tropical and dominantly hoppy with a dry leafy feel. Nice intensity, going for an IPA, yet still feels APA. Good balance and taste. Filling and pleasant. The smell is a little dull though. Overall high quality craft.
